Who is he?

At a glance he seemed your average, a typical person, not too bright, gifted? Perhaps but,I doubt it. Yet, as the barriers fell you'd soon realize that this person was... strange, he hid behind different personas. Each one uniquely crafted to suit his audience. He had perfected them over time. The shift was seamless, although I doubt it was something learned overnight.

Among friends he was calm and collected, an intelligent man. Among strangers he seemed charming, gifted, unique, brilliant. Among his true friends he was more... more himself, the façade of intelligence and brilliance wasn't there, he was humble, and curious, as if he was seeing the world for the first time. But even among true friends he wasn't truly himself, he'd keep his guard up, even if ever so slightly. He was in fact a damaged man, conflicted by his brilliance and his inability to show it.

Haunted by his twisted thoughts, trying to hide his demon... trying to be 'better'. He was untrusting, he liked secrets, even if they were a burden, they were his own to carry. In the end he feared that he, like so many others , his "difference" was just a mere illusion, and that his realization was the only thing that set him apart.
